What Is the DMA?
The Digital Markets Act establishes rules for large online platforms acting as 'gatekeepers' in digital sectors. It aims to ensure fair and contestable digital markets throughout the EU and give users and businesses more choice and fairness.
Is textile.solutions a Gatekeeper?
textile.solutions is a specialised B2B platform for the European textile industry. Based on the current threshold criteria in the DMA — including turnover limits and number of active users — textile.solutions does not meet the DMA's criteria for designation as a gatekeeper. We do, however, follow the DMA's broader objectives of fairness, transparency, and open competition.
Our Voluntary Commitment to Fair Markets
Although textile.solutions does not reach the thresholds for gatekeeper status, we follow the DMA's underlying principles of fairness, transparency, and open competition. We strive to ensure that our platform operates fairly for all participants — regardless of size — and that we do not restrict competition in ways that harm users.
Interoperability and Openness
textile.solutions supports the principles of interoperability and openness in the digital sector. We provide API access to platform data under approved data licensing policies and collaborate with initiatives aimed at improving connectivity and fair access in the European textile industry's digital ecosystem.
Reporting and Transparency
We publish regular transparency reports on platform activity, content moderation, and business practices. These reports are available to all users and authorities seeking information about our operations.
Gatekeeper Thresholds
The DMA defines gatekeepers based on the following quantitative threshold criteria:
Turnover in the EEA of at least €7.5 billion in each of the last three financial years, or a market capitalisation of at least €75 billion.
Providing a core platform service to at least 45 million monthly active end-users in the EU and at least 10,000 active business users per year in the EU.
Meets the quantitative threshold criteria in each of the last three financial years.
Our Voluntary Principles
Fair access: we ensure that all platform users — regardless of size or country of origin — have fair access to the platform's core features.
Transparency in ranking algorithms: we provide clear information about the parameters used in our AI matching and recommendation systems.
No self-preferencing: we do not prioritise textile.solutions' own services or products over comparable third-party offerings in search results or recommendations.
Data portability: users can export their data in structured, machine-readable formats on request.
Complaints mechanism: we maintain an accessible channel for business users to report potential fairness or competition concerns.
